Build A Flower in Pool Party

The inspiration for this flower came from the Stampin' Success Magazine sent to all Stampin' Up  demonstrators.  Just another great perk!  This flower reminds me of a dahlia.  Although I made this into a Mother's Day card, this one would be fabulous for many other sentiments we might want to use.  So sorry I didn't get to posting this one before the big day, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

The petals are made from the Blossom Petals Builder Punch (121808), the center is stamped in Soft Suede using a flower center from the Mixed Bunch stamp set. (I am so happy this set is in the new catalog!)  Yes, I did cut this out by hand, but the 1" circle punch does work.  To assemble the flower, I punched a 1-3/8" circle and then built the bottom layer with 8 petals and another 8 for the top layer.  I used a little all purpose glue to make everything stay put.

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch (125535[W]; 125537[C]), Sentiment from Something To Celebrate (retired Hostess Set)
Ink:  Soft Suede, Pool Party
Paper:  Pool Party, Soft Suede, Whisper White, So Saffron DSP (this strip is from a retired package, but other DSP is available)
Accessories:  Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (122967), Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Dimensionals (104430)
Tools:  Blossom Petals Builder Punch (121808), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (119860), Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335)

Don't let this flower intimidate you!  It was actually quite simple and fun to make.
