Vintage Creative Elements - PPA131

I created a vintage card using the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.

You can see the layers of the dahlia below.  There are three layers, each separated by a dimensional.  The butterfly and word strip are also popped up with dimensionals.

The background is stamped with Sahara Sand, the flower with Regal Rose, and the butterfly with Soft Suede.  I also used Soft Suede and a sponge dauber to get that distressed look on the edges after roughing them up with the edge of my Paper Snips.  I know there is a tool for that, but I prefer to use the sharp edge of my little scissors.

Stamps:  Creative Elements (122645[W]; 122647[C])
Ink:  Sahara Sand, Regal Rose, Soft Suede
Paper:  Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Regal Rose, Very Vanilla
Accessories:  Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim (119970), Basic Pearls (119247), Dimensionals (104430)
Tools:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976), Big Shot (113439), Sponge Dauber (102892)

Send Me Soaring

Yes, it is definately Spring here!  My apricot tree has blossoms, the freesias are up and...the wind is blowing.  Let's go fly a kite!  Actually, I have never been able to keep the darn things up in the air long before they take a nose dive and crash into the ground.  Lucky for me, these cute little kites will not fall out of the sky.

The clouds in the background are stamped with Bashful Blue ink and the cupcake top "cloud" is daubed with a little ink the same color to give definition.  The kites and cloud are all attached with a dimensional to give them depth.

Stamps:  Send Me Soaring (125440[W]; 125442[C])
Ink:  Bashful Blue, Elegant Eggplant, Pacific Point, Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Paper:  Bashful Blue, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
Accessories:  Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (111368), Calypso Coral Baker's Twine (125573), Dimensionals (104430)
Tools:   Cupcake Builder Punch (121807)

Up In The Air - PP86

Are you up for a color challenge?  This week at The Paper Players the challenge is to create a project using Wisteria Wonder, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz.  Here's what I came up with...

The colors are reminiscent of Springtime, and the blooming branch and birdhouse stamp from Up In The Air - hostess set from the Occasions Mini, are the perfect partners for an Easter card.  The image is stamped with Early Espresso, then the birdhouse was stamped again in Wisteria Wonder and cut out and adhered over the Espresso one.   A blender pen is great for "water coloring" the leaves and blossoms.  I used the Pool Party frame cut from the Labels Collection Framelits die to show off the stamped image.  It sits up a bit with a dimensional under each corner.

Stamps:  Up In The Air (Hostess Set Occasions Mini), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Whisper White
Accessories:  Crumb Cake 5/8" Seam Binding (122332), Basic Pearls (119247)
Tools:  Labels Collection Framelits Dies (125598), Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976), Word Window Punch (119857), Blender Pens (102845)

Tea Shoppe - Mojo231

I went a little vintage with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.  The "tag" was the perfect place to show off this sweet quote from the Tea Shoppe set.

Vintage cards can take a little more time to create all the details, but that creative process is very therapeutic and fun!  The flower was made with the Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die.  I cut two of the largest flowers in Blushing Bride and two of the smallest flowers in Whisper White.  I stamped the two white flowers with the pansy stamp from the Tea Shoppe set in Blushing Bride ink (the same stamp and ink was used on the bottom of the tag), which added just enough color to the flower.  The center is from the Boho Blossoms Punch, finished off with an Antique Brass Brad from the Metallic Brads collection.

Stamps:  Tea Shoppe (125545[W]; 125547[C] Occasions Mini)
Ink:  Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Soft Suede
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories:  3/8" Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon (125570), Metallic Brads (119741), Basic Pearls (119247)
Tools:  Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335), Floral Fusion Sizzlits Die (115969), Little Leaves Sizzlits Die (114511), Boho Blossoms Punch (119858), Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die (125592 Occasions Mini), 1-1/4 Square Punch (119865), Corner Punch (119871), Paper Piercing Tool (116631)

So Many Smiles...

I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!  I just passed my 3 year anniversary as a demo, and as I look back, I am so thankful that I decided to join.  At first I just wanted the discount, but after I had a taste of sharing my new hobby with others, I was hooked!  After all, what's not to love?  Quality products that coordinate, never-ending ideas, and wonderful support.  I have met so many wonderful women that I would not have had the opportunity to know.  Several have become good friends, and who doesn't like new friends?

Having a creative outlet and sharing it with others has been very healing durning a difficult year.  I dare say has even helped me keep my sanity.  This card is similar to one I made for one of these friends spoken of above that has become a source of encouragement as well as a good listener.

The Big Shot took center stage here.  I used the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die to easily cut out these layered beauties, and ran the Very Vanilla card stock through in the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder to make the textured background.  The brad is from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack, a free item in the sale-a-bration brochure (Hurry! ends 3/31).

Stamps:  Petite Pairs (122495[W]; 122497[C])
Ink:  Poppy Parade
