The retired lists have been posted. It is bittersweet as we say goodbye to some favorite items and at the same time look forward to new and exciting new stamp sets and accessories sure to be found in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog.
In this card, I have used Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-bration (just retired), Poppy Parade Card Stock & Ink, the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch and a Filigree Brad, which are all retiring at the end of May.
The sketch idea was from a past Mojo Monday. I didn't get a chance to get to it on time, but thought it was a fun quilt pattern. My grandmothers were both big quilters, so the "Memories" sentiment seemed the perfect touch to finish my card. To make the leaves, I used the Blossom Petals Builder Punch and scored a line down the center with the Simply Scored scoring tool. You gotta love the quality of Stampin' Up! card stock. It's so easy to shape with your fingers. The flower and leaves are curled to make more a 3-dimensional look.

Lion King - PP83
This week's challenge at The Paper Players is to create a masculine project with clean and simple lines.
I purchased this stamp set because it made me think of my oldest daughter, who went to South Africa on a humanitarian trip right after graduating from high school. While she was there her group visited a couple game reserves where they saw the animals close up and personal. Her trip to South Africa was a life changing experience for her as you can imagine.
Stamps: Zoo Review (122197 [W]; 122199 [C]), Loving Thoughts (125843[W]; 125845[C] Occasions Mini)
Ink: Early Espresso, Always Artichoke
Paper: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke, So Saffron, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Linen Thread, Subtles Designer Buttons
Tools: Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Fill your shopping cart in my on-line store HERE.
I recently purchased a crimper from Stampin' Up! I had been wanting one, but was a little apprehensive, because someone had told me that it was a little hard to use and to get the paper straight. I wish I would have gotten one sooner. I LOVE IT! My 11 year old daughter can't stop running scrap paper through it! This is my first project using it, but I think it is great. Those who attended my class were impressed by it as well.
To make this ruffled border, I first punched a strip of 7/8" x 11" Lucky Limeade with the Eyelet Border Punch (119853), then ran it through the Crimper (101618). If you ease the ridges together along the straight edge, then you can adhere it to the back of the circle as you go.
