Midnight Muse Papillon Potpourri

The delicate wings of this butterfly from the new set Papillon Potpourri are like stained glass.  I used a blender pen here to add the lighter color to fill in the wings, then punched them out with the amazing new Elegant Butterfly Punch and adhered both with a dimensional.

Don't you just love all of the embossing folders available from Stampin' Up?  The one used here is the Fancy Fan Folder.  It has a delicate pattern that compliments the graceful butterflies.

Elements Of Style - Mojo 247

I adore the little 3 x 3 love notes.  They are the perfect size to tuck in the ribbon on a wrapped present.  This week's Mojo Monday was "round or square", so I went with a love note.

The Night of Navy and Whisper White remind me of french toile.  I used Whisper White card stock cut out with the Scallop Rectangle Clearlits to stamp the roses, and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch for the tiny scallops peeking out from behind the Sahara Sand embossed strip.  I sure do get a lot of milage out of that punch!

Hello Baby

I wanted to share a cute card I made for someone special.  I don't make a lot of baby cards, so I don't have a lot of baby stamp sets.  This little stamp is in the retired hostess set Slice Of Life from the 2011 Occasions Mini, but a perfect alternative would be the onesie in the Baby Bundle Set on p. 61 of the current Stampin' Up! Catalog.

The embossed hearts are a sweet touch and repeat the little hearts on the rompers.  Each romper was stamped on colored card stock, cut out by hand and attached with dimensionals.  I used the Big Shot to cut out the scalloped border.  The Stamp-a-ma-jig is the tool to use when you need to get the words on straight.

Stamps:  Slice of Life (Retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370[W]; 127802[C])
Ink:  Early Espresso
Paper:  So Saffron, Pool Party, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Accessories:  5/8" Certainly Celery Ribbon (Retired), Subtles Designer Buttons, So Saffron (119745), White Baker's Twine (124262),Dimensionals (104430), Glue Dots (103683)
Tools:  Adorning Accents Folders (125601) Adorning Accents Edgelits (125595), Stamp-a-ma-jig

Pleasant Poppies, Clean & Simple

I love flowers; they are great for many occasions, and they allow for a wide variety of color combinations and designs.  One of the new stamps in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog that really jumped out at me was Pleasant Poppies - I just had to have it.  For this card, I left the poppies as an outline, but I can't wait to try watercolor.  Pleasant Poppies is one large stamp available in wood or clear mount (use on block F).

The idea for this card came from the Catalog.  The Catalog is filled with so many great ideas, you can't help but be inspired and ready to create!

Stamps:  Pleasant Poppies (126480[W]; 129499[C]), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370[W]; 127802[C])
Ink:  Calypso Coral
Paper:  Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Floral District DSP
Accessories:  Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (126872)
Tools:  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275), Curly Label Punch (119851)

Pinwheel Tag

Pinwheels bring back fond childhood memories of carefree summer days.  Pinwheels are just FUN.  The cover of a recent Stampin' Success Magazine, (a magazine for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators), was loaded with pinwheels of all sizes, which gave me the inspiration for this tag.  I would have made a card, but it's not easy to fit a pinwheel into an envelope without smooshing it.   Now a tag, that makes perfect sense.

The tag base is 4-1/4" x 2-7/8".  To make the pinwheel, I cut a 2-1/2" square from the Floral District DSP, then cut from corner to corner leaving about 1/2" uncut in the middle.  Do both diagonals.  Bring the cut corner up to the center and snail to hold until the brad can be placed in the center to hold it all together.  Adhere to the tag base with a dimensional at the tip of the toothpick.

Stamps:  It's Your Day (retired).
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry
Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Floral District DSP (126919)
Accessories:  Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (126872), Brights Brads (119740), Dimensionals (104430), Toothpick
Tools:  Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402), Boho Blossoms Punch (119858), Paper Piercing Tool (126189), Corner Punch (119871), 1/2" Circle Punch (119869), Hole Punch

Pure Gumption - A Grad Card

It's an exciting time of year for many a graduate.  Congratulations to all of you!

I was so happy to find a graduation stamp set in the new catalog.  I have been waiting and waiting for one with words.  Pure Gumption fills the bill with 4 sayings and this darling little cap.  This card came together quick and easy with the help of my Houndstooth Embossing Folder for texture and my 2 (retired) star punches.  Unfortunately, Stampin' Up! does not currently have a star punch or die, so I had to retrieve my trusty retired ones.

Stamps:  Pure Gumption (126315[W]; 126317[C])
Ink:  Basic Black
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper (124005)
Accessories:  Mini Brads (122941), Dimensionals (104430)
Tools:  Houndstooth Embossing Folder (123134), Large & Small Star Punches

This second one is a graduation card I made last year, before I started my blog.  I got the basic idea for this from someone else (I'm sorry, but I don't remember who), but turned out so cute, I thought it was worth sharing.

I used the owl punch, and the scallop circle punch for the wings.  The hat was hand cut.  It took some time to get him altogether, but so smart looking!

Vintage Papaya Collage

I hope you are as excited as I am for the new Stampin' Up! catalog, which begins today!  It is always fun to refresh your stampin' supplies with new and innovative stamps, tools and colors.

One beautiful new set is Papaya Collage, which works beautifully with the vintage style.

I have used 2 of the new In Colors here as well; Raspberry Ripple & Gumball Green.  I stamped off with the green leaflet, meaning I stamped with a freshly inked stamp, then stamped again without re-inking to get the dark, light and very light images.  I like using the edge of my scissors to rough up the edges before "daubing" on the Soft Suede, as you can see on the Very Vanilla frame.  I used my fingers on the embossed Raspberry Ripple to get the worn look.  There is a little bit of fussy cutting on the bird and rose, but not too hard.

Stamps:  Papaya Collage (126610 [W]; 126612[C]), Tiny Tags (118091[W]; 118592[C]), En Francais (109521)
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Soft Suede, Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Baja Breeze
Accessories:  Linen Thread (104199), Dimensionals (104430)
Tools:  Jewelry Tag Punch (117190), 1/16" Circle Punch (101227), 3/16" Corner Punch (119871), Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175), Sponge Dauber (102892)
